06 nov CREN IS ELECTED ONE OF THE 100 BEST NGOS IN BRAZIL
CREN was elected one of the 100 Best NGOs in Brazil in the second edition of Best NGOs Guide, an initiative from Institute Doar and Rede Filantropia. The announcement was made in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 1st, at the Museum of Modern Art.
The Best NGOs Award was created to value philanthropic organizations with good management practices and transparency. They were selected among 800 thousand institutions in operation nowadays in Brazil.
The main goal of the award is to stimulating the continuous improvement of the management of the entities. It also intends to creating spaces of visibility for NGOs to find more donors, in order to expand the donation culture in Brazil.
Ana Cláudia do Nascimento Ferreira, operations manager of CREN, celebrated the Best NGOs award. “Being among the 100 Best NGOs in Brazil is especially important to give confidence to the partner or donor in donating or signing an agreement with us.”
“One of the biggest sustainability challenges of CREN is free fundraising resources, whether in the form of donations or social responsibility projects. This award will surely help us in these actions”, says the manager.
Ferreira pointed out that the CREN election is the result of more than 25 years of commitment to overcome malnutrition. “CREN was born from a university extension project in 1989. And since then, we have been professionalizing our governance, which today has total transparency, with all accounts controlled.
CREN – Centre for Nutritional Recovery and Education – is a non-profit organization that fights and prevents malnutrition in children and adolescents since 1993.
Th NGO has already served 144,000 children and adolescents with malnutrition and has benefited 3.8 million people indirectly. In addition to the assistance, the NGO develops top research, with the publication of books, guides and scientific articles. As a multiplier, CREN has trained more than 37,000 professionals.
