The president of AVSI Foundation, Alda Vanoni, visited CREN on May 3rd followed by Fabrizio Pellicelli, president of AVSI Brazil. During her visit, she was given a handwritten thank-you card by the CREN children. The card showed a reinterpretation of “The Hug”, a painting by Brazilian artist Romero Britto.

AVSI Foundation is an Italian NGO with 45 years of history, engaged in projects of cooperation for human development. Since it was founded in São Paulo, CREN has been its partner, besides being one of the founding members. In addition to participating in the construction of CREN HQ in Vila Mariana neighborhood, the Foundation currently contributes to the treatment of 368 malnourished children and adolescents.

Alda came from Italy to visit AVSI collaborating organizations. At CREN, she was presented to the methodology for treatment and recovering of malnutrition among young individuals. The support of AVSI Foundation to CREN comes from foreign sponsors, called “godfathers”, which share experiences with children and their annual activities.

AVSI’s core activity is human development, with particular attention to education and the promotion of human dignity in all its forms. The Foundation has spread to 37 emerging nations. They are located in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, East Europe, Middle East and Asia.

CREN is greatly thankful for the representatives’ visit, hoping to see them again soon.
